The PTR 32P PDWR is a semi-automatic 7.62×39mm pistol built around PTR’s roller-delayed blowback operating system, delivering compact handling with smooth recoil characteristics. Configured as a pistol at the point of sale, it features an 8.5” barrel, AK-pattern magazine compatibility, and modern optic mounting capability in a shortened platform.
Designed as a compact counterpart to PTR’s full-length 7.62×39 rifles, the 32P PDWR emphasizes size efficiency, controllability, and modular rear-end configuration. An aluminum tail cap adapter allows compatibility with AR-pattern buffer tubes where legally applicable, making the platform adaptable while maintaining its core roller-delayed performance.

The PTR 32P PDWR – 7.62×39mm Pistol is a compact, roller-delayed platform designed to deliver intermediate-caliber performance in a reduced-length configuration. Sold as a pistol at the point of sale, the 32P PDWR combines PTR’s proven roller-delayed blowback operating system with AK-pattern magazine compatibility and modern mounting features.
The platform is built around an 8.5” stress-relieved, heavy-contour barrel with a 1:10” right-hand twist, optimized for durability and consistent performance. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, supporting common muzzle devices. PTR’s roller-delayed operating system reduces bolt speed and smooths recoil impulse compared to traditional gas-operated designs. A heat-treated, full-auto profile bolt carrier supports mechanical longevity and consistent cycling. The action is host-ready for use with NFA-registered auto sear packs where legally applicable.
A 7.5” steel Picatinny rail provides a stable optic mounting surface, while the traditional polymer handguard offers a secure and familiar grip. The rear of the pistol features an aluminum tail cap adapter that can be replaced with a standard AR-pattern buffer tube for compatible pistol braces or, where legally approved, short-barreled rifle configurations. The trigger is set to a 9–10 lb pull for consistent operation.
Finished in black powder coating over Parkerizing, the 32P PDWR is built for durability under sustained use. Measuring approximately 23.5” in overall length and weighing 7.9 lbs unloaded, it balances compact handling with intermediate-caliber capability. Offered in standard and Vermont-compliant configurations, the 32P PDWR occupies the compact pistol segment within the PTR 7.62×39 lineup.
