Product Description
The PTR GIRK – 7.62×51mm Rifle is a compact, semi-automatic rifle engineered to deliver roller-delayed performance in a shortened rifle configuration. Built around PTR’s proven roller-delayed blowback operating system, the GIRK provides smooth recoil characteristics and consistent reliability. The semi-automatic action is host-ready for use with NFA-registered auto sear packs where legally applicable.
At the core of the rifle is a 16.35″ stress-relieved, tapered contour barrel with a 1:10″ right-hand twist. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, supporting suppressors and common muzzle devices. A welded 7.5″ steel Picatinny rail is integrated directly onto the receiver, allowing direct mounting of modern optics without the need for high-offset scope adapters. The Parkerized finish enhances corrosion resistance while reinforcing the rifle’s traditional military appearance.
The PTR GIRK features a slim-line polymer handguard and surplus-style green furniture paired with a black receiver. Surplus components, including the stock set and metal lower trigger pack, are military surplus rated NRA Good and may display cosmetic wear such as scratches, blemishes, or finish variation. Included magazines are original surplus aluminum magazines rated Good or better, contributing to the rifle’s authentic service character.
Measuring approximately 38.5″ in overall length and weighing 9.3 lbs unloaded, the PTR GIRK balances full-power rifle performance with improved maneuverability. The trigger pull is set between 9–10 lbs for consistent operation. Each rifle ships in a cardboard case and includes one magazine and a cable lock. The PTR GIRK is offered in standard, California-compliant, and Vermont-compliant configurations.
Within the PTR lineup, the GIRK occupies the compact modernized .308 rifle segment, offering roller-delayed reliability, integrated optics support, and classic military styling in a shortened, more agile platform.

Joel Fortenberry –
Functions perfectly so far, very sold rifle. Accuracy better than expected with mid priced brass fmj ammo and I love the diopter sights. Couldn’t be happier, glad I didn’t listen to the naysayers. My ar-10 should last forever because I always grab the 91, it’s more fun to shoot.
