More Mounting Space Without Excess Bulk

At 5.65 inches long, the HG3 provides substantially more usable handguard area than the ultra-compact HG1 while retaining a narrow 1.57-inch outside diameter. Three rows of M-LOK® slots create mounting positions around the handguard, providing flexibility for compatible accessories without requiring permanent rail sections everywhere they might eventually be needed.

4.8 oz Aluminum Construction

The HG3 weighs just 4.8 oz, keeping additional front-end mass low while replacing a traditional polymer-style handguard with a rigid aluminum mounting interface. Its mil-spec anodized exterior provides surface protection for the aluminum, and PTR specifically notes that the handguards are finished with smooth, burr-free edges to reduce snagging against hands or equipment.

A Versatile Mid-Length PTR Configuration

The HG3 covers one of the broadest groups of compact and full-size PTR platforms in the handguard family. It is compatible with the PTR 9R, 9CT, 9C, 9CT-CL, 32P PDWR, PDWR, and 51P PDWR. That positioning gives the HG3 a clear role between the abbreviated HG1 and PTR’s longer HG5 and HG7 handguards: enough handguard length for meaningful accessory placement without moving to a rifle-length front end.
