Product Description
The PTR 32 KFR – 7.62×39mm Rifle is a semi-automatic, roller-delayed rifle designed to combine PTR’s proven operating system with the intermediate-range capability of the 7.62×39 cartridge. Sold as a rifle at the point of sale, the 32 KFR offers a modern alternative to traditional gas-operated platforms while retaining AK-pattern magazine compatibility and familiar ballistic performance.
The rifle features a 16.35” stress-relieved, tapered-contour barrel with a 1:10” right-hand twist, optimized for durability and consistent accuracy. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, supporting common muzzle devices. PTR’s roller-delayed blowback system reduces bolt speed and smooths recoil impulse compared to conventional gas systems. A heat-treated, full-auto profile bolt carrier supports mechanical longevity and consistent cycling. The action is host-ready for use with NFA-registered auto sear packs where legally applicable.
A 7.5” steel Picatinny rail provides a stable mounting platform for optics, while the slim-line polymer handguard maintains a streamlined profile and secure grip. The trigger is set to a 9–10 lb pull for consistent operation. The rifle feeds from standard AK-pattern magazines and ships with a 30-round polymer magazine.
Finished in black powder coating over Parkerizing, the 32 KFR is built for durability under sustained use. Measuring 38.5” in overall length and weighing approximately 9.3 lbs unloaded, it balances stability with controllability. Within the PTR lineup, the 32 KFR represents the 7.62×39 rifle configuration—combining roller-delayed refinement, optic readiness, and magazine compatibility in a modernized rifle platform.

My PTR-32 is extremally accurate, reliable and of course modular. I have no problem scoring hits at 400+ meters with steel case ammo. Would love to see more barrel length options, 12.5 and 18 inch. Outstanding work PTR!

The PTR 32 KFR is probably the most accurate 7.62×39 rifle I’ve ever owned outside of bolt-actions. I’d love to see two different options though… first, barrel lengths, and second, calibers… 6.5 Grendel specifically with an 18″ barrel option from a personal standpoint but I would imagine that some would also like 5.45×39.

Just put the MKE a3 style collapsing buttstock on mine. The best part about this gun is that it takes G3/HK91 parts. The worst part is how pricey HK parts are.

The PTR32 is hands down my favorite rifle I own, because it’s accurate and fun to shoot. While the rifle itself is a bit on the pricey side, it somehow shoots cheap steel cased ammo surprisingly accurate out to 500 yards (with a Primary Arms LPVO with a 7.62×39 BDC). While they advertise the rifle being 4.22lbs, mine likely weighs double that, if not more (maybe they’re talking about the pistol version). Its ability to accept AK mags is another huge benefit, when compared to my C93 Sporter, that’s somewhat expensive to find mags for. I’m really pleased with this rifle and am actually surprised by how few of people own these. It’s a really great alternative to an AK.

Softest shooting 7.62×39 I’ve ever owned. Accurate as well. Break in period was a little more than I was expecting but good nonetheless. Hope this never gets discontinued.

Great shooting rifle and accurate. Went through a spam can of Red Army Standard in 2 days with this rifle and had no hiccups other than some of the steel mags i was using. Put a 1×6 LPVO on top and was consistently hitting a 2-3 inch groups at 100 yards. The only bad thing about this rifle is the trigger which is long and heavy (12-15lbs).I believe there are replacement trigger packs with better trigger pull weights out there. Would i recommend this rifle to states that have AK bans? Absolutely I would!

i now have the best of both worlds!
If you’re a fan of the 7.62×39, it could be because you’re old enough to remember the first M-16’s issued to the military.
I have always been a fan of the delayed blowback design and PTR has created a true masterpiece with their model 32. First time using it, had a bowling pin jumping around at 100 yards with iron sights. I’ve heard it said that this model will only work with Magpul magazines. Not true. Owning several AK’s, my East German magazines as an example worked fantastically. The problem is that PTR has manufactured a weapon with precise tolerances, so some of the cheaper eastern block magazines will not work properly. I also find the Magpul metal mags lock up tighter than the less expensive all plastic version. While I still like my AK’s, this has become my absolute favorite 7.62mm by far. Thank You PTR!
